How events have developed since February 24
On February 24, a special operation began. Social networks reacted: activity increased on Facebook*, VKontakte, Telegram, OK. There was a temporary jump in bot activity on Twitter and Telegram. The trend of decreasing activity on Instagram* continued.
On March 4, Facebook* and Twitter were blocked or “slowed down”, which led to a decline in activity. All advertising opportunities on Instagram* and YouTube were blocked.
On March 10, monetization for Russian bloggers on YouTube was removed.
On March 14, Instagram* was blocked. The volume of new content and the presence of authors dropped sharply. Bloggers and company pages began to massively transfer subscribers to VKontakte from blocked platforms.
On March 21, Meta* was recognized as an extremist organization. Since Instagram* and Facebook* had already been blocked before, this did not affect user activity. The numbers stabilized at one level due to the audience ready to use services that allow changing the IP address. There is an increase in the volume of content and the number of authors on VKontakte, OK, Telegram.
