Perhaps, during your time at school and university, you have become accustomed to the fact that there are two paths to knowledge:
- the teacher tells a story and the student listens silently;
- The student independently obtains knowledge from various sources.
Neither method of conveying information will work if you want to become a successful business coach. Your task will not be just to provide relevant knowledge. People attend trainings to change their behavior, see new paths and get an impulse for development. For the coach’s work to be effective, it is important to understand what a specific audience needs, what tasks and problems they have.
The first step is to decide who and what you telemarketing data will teach. For example, you can help people plan their time wisely, develop skills, advance in their careers, negotiate, or present themselves correctly. Such knowledge will be useful to freelancers, managers, salespeople, businessmen, and housewives. Decide who your audience is and who you can more easily approach.
The second step is choosing the form of work.
- You can get a job in a large company and conduct training among its employees.
- Or work on staff at a training company.
- A separate category is a freelance business trainer who searches for clients and organizes events himself.
- Trainings can be conducted not only in person, but also online. This reduces the costs of organization, but requires additional skills and expertise.
Some people think that a business trainer and a coach are the same profession. In fact, the difference between these professions is significant.
A coach develops what is already in his clients. He does not give new knowledge, and his work is closer to the work of a psychologist. A trainer is a specialist in some area and helps to acquire new skills. He has a plan and methods, as well as deep knowledge in the area he teaches.
Who can become a business coach?
The saying “the shoemaker has no the power of mobile marketing shoes” definitely won’t work for a business trainer. To teach other people to be successful, you need to succeed yourself. If you can prove your competence, find a common language with the audience and instill confidence in people, you will be a good business trainer. It is important to be able to “light up hearts.” So that after trainings people have an incentive to change something in their lives and work.
A successful businessman, experienced Taiwan Data marketer or company manager can become a business coach.
Your knowledge should be confirmed by practice and work experience. This is the first thing that people pay attention to when choosing training. It is good if you have teaching skills, psychological education and communication skills. And, in any case, be prepared for the fact that you will have to learn a lot.
What a business coach should be able to do
Of course, the trainer must be proficient in the material and understand the specifics of the business and the area in which he works. Be prepared for visitors to ask questions. And your answers must be informative and based on real experience.
But just knowing the material is not enough. Let us note once again that a business trainer is not a teacher. The necessary information can be found on Google. And people come to a trainer to develop useful skills. Therefore, it is necessary to master training methods (role play, brainstorming, case analysis, group play).
Adults learn differently than children. They have higher motivation and more knowledge, but less time. A trainer who works with people over 18 years old must understand andragogy – the science of teaching adults. You need to know what formats and types of training exist (observation, discussions, dramatization, imitation).
It is useful to read about how the brain works and how the learning process occurs:
- “Quick Mind” by Mike Beister;
- “Put Your Brain to Work” by Amy Brann;
- “The Brain: A User’s Guide” by David Rock.
A trainer must be able to speak well in public and work with an audience – find contact, attract and hold attention, manage emotions. It is important to have skills in working with large groups and “difficult” participants. You must understand when it is appropriate to insert a joke, ask a question or pretend that you have forgotten something.
As in many modern professions, you won’t be able to learn it once and for all. To become successful, you need to constantly develop and improve your knowledge. And not only in your own, but also in related fields.
Where to learn this
There are currently no higher education institutions that train business trainers. Perhaps this is not necessary. After all, personal qualities and practical experience play a decisive role here. And you will not get them at a desk in a classroom.
It is enough to have any higher education, which can be used as a foundation for acquiring new skills. Good business coaches are obtained from graduates of economic, financial and psychological faculties. But this is not a mandatory requirement. And even more so, it is not a guarantee of success.
The profession of a business trainer can be mastered in the following courses:
- ARV-Pro Training Institute
- Mark Kukushkin’s Open Coaching University
- International School of Business Trainers ICBT
- Schools of business trainers Molokanov and Sikirin
- International University of Professional Innovations MUPI
- International Academy of Business Trainers and Coaches MABK
Anyone who wants to teach others must also constantly develop themselves. Such a change of roles will not only provide new knowledge, but will also help to look at the learning process from the inside.
